This is what Reformation was all about:

Protestant Reformation, was a separation from the Roman Catholic Church initiated by Martin Luther and continued by John Calvin, Huldrych Zwingli, and other early Protestant Reformers in 16th-century Europe. Reformation began by critizing the sale of indulgences, insisting that the Pope had no authority over purpatory and that the Catholic doctrine of the merits of the saints had no foundation in the Bible. Protestants insisted on complete reliance on the Scripture as a source of proper velieff (sola scriptura) and the belief that faith in Jesus ,and not the amount of our good works, is the only way to obtain God's favor and pardon for sin (sola fide)

This is why the second reformation is overdue:

The first Reformation of the Church 500 years ago was about creeds and deeds. God taught us what to believe and how to live in the Holy Scripture, the Bible. By the Middle Ages most Christians believed in the stuff that was unbiblical, and many lived phony lives. Now, let's look at ourselves. With only Bible in your hands, can you justify and give an account for everything that you are believing in? And what about your life? Does it reflect the life of Jesus? Do you really love your enemies? Are you a peacemaker? Can you unconditionally forgive those who offend you? Do you share what you have with the needy? Do you support missionaries? Do you routinely take Good News about Second Coming of Jesus everywhere you go?
